A gas meter motor valve is a built-in valve installed inside of smart gas meters. It can control the on and off of the prepaid gas supply. It should be installed in an airtight space because gas will release through all directions when the motor valve opens, or it should be added housing to form the valve as a “pipe” to make it possible to connect hosepipes like a part of a tube.
As for the classification of the gas meter motor valves, there are mainly 2 types — shut off valve and ball valve. Shut off valve means the sealing plug of the valve will move straightly up and downs to open and close, while ball valve has a ball core to rotate to seal. The small motor valves are usually use for G1.6 ~G6 gas meters, but we also have larger valves for industrial gas meters from G6 to G25. The sealing performance of the motor ball valve is better than that of the shut-off valve, and the pressure loss is much smaller than that of the shut off/screw valve, but the closing speed of the shut-off valve will be faster and its use is more common. The point that customers usually concerned most is whether the valve is small enough to suit their gas meters, and our valves are very small.
